Nigeria U23 Team Loses 1st Leg AFCON Qualifier against Libya

The Nigerian U23 team today suffered a huge setback in their quest to represent the country in the upcoming U23 African Cup of Nations.

The Eagles lost 2 – 0 to Libya in Tripoli, a game that only went on six minutes before Libya took the lead. Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Adamu was handed a red card towards the end of the first half leaving the team with no other option than to finish the game with 10 men.

The second leg comes up on Monday 25th, March 2019 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
