Tambuwal Wins Sokoto Gubernatorial Polls With Slim Margin

TambuwalWaziri Tambuwal has been declared the winner of the Sokoto gubernatorial polls.

Fatimah Mukhtar, the INEC returning officer in the state confirmed that Tambuwal, who contested under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled a total of 512,002 votes to beat Aliyu Ahmed of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who garnered 511,660 votes.

Tambuwal won the elections by just 342 votes.

Tambuwal’s rival, Aliyu Ahmed was the deputy of Tambuwal before the governor defected from the APC to the PDP.

Tambuwal will now serve a second tenure as governor of Sokoto state.
